In a significant step towards improving healthcare access in rural and semi-rural areas, JBM Electric Vehicles has unveiled India’s first state-of-the-art Medical Mobile Unit (MMU). The unit, fully conceptualized, designed, and developed in India, aligns with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s flagship health initiative, PM Jan Aarogya Yojna (PM-JAY), which aims to enhance healthcare delivery in underserved regions.
The MMU, part of the National Health Mission (NHM), is designed to function as a ‘Hospital on Wheels,’ offering essential medical services to vulnerable and remote populations. It will deliver primary care, diagnostics, and emergency medical aid directly to the doorsteps of communities in need.
The launch event, held today, was attended by key dignitaries, including Shri J.P. Nadda, Hon’ble Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Shri Manohar Lal, Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Dr. S.K. Sarin, Director of the Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences, Shri S.K. Arya, Chairman of JBM Group, and Shri Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group.
The fully equipped MMU includes advanced medical equipment, teleconsultation capabilities, and a full medical staff to provide a wide range of services, such as:
- Defibrillator
- Fibrosca
- Bio-Chemistry Analyser
- Centrifuge
- Blood Transport Box
- ECG Machine
With its focus on last-mile healthcare delivery, the MMU is set to play a crucial role in improving healthcare access for India’s rural and semi-rural populations, furthering the government’s goal of universal healthcare coverage.
