Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., India’s leading SUV manufacturer, has achieved a significant milestone with its Thar ROXX, XUV 3XO, and XUV400 models receiving 5-star safety ratings in the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat-NCAP). This recognition reaffirms Mahindra’s commitment to building safe, reliable, and high-performance SUVs.
The rugged Thar ROXX made history as the first body-on-frame SUV to earn a 5-star Bharat-NCAP rating, with top scores of 31.09/32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 in child occupant protection (COP). This accomplishment positions the Thar ROXX as the safest internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle tested under Bharat-NCAP to date.
Mahindra’s compact SUV, the XUV 3XO, scored 29.36/32 in AOP and 43/49 in COP, further solidifying Mahindra’s role in pioneering safety across SUV segments. Meanwhile, the electric XUV400, Mahindra’s first electric SUV, achieved a commendable 30.377/32 in AOP and 43/49 in COP, making it one of India’s safest electric vehicles.

XUV400: As Mahindra’s first electric SUV, the XUV400 includes a suite of safety features, such as six airbags, ISOFIX anchors, and a reverse camera with adaptive guidelines.
