Tata Motors, India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has won a significant order from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to supply 1,000 units of the Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis. The contract, awarded through a competitive e-bidding process under the Government tendering system, will see the phased delivery of the bus chassis as per mutually agreed terms.
This new order follows the successful completion of a larger, similar order of 1,350 bus chassis fulfilled last year, which are currently operating efficiently in UPSRTC’s fleet. The Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis is specifically designed for safe and comfortable intercity and long-distance travel, boasting low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and reliable performance.
Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Anand S, Vice President and Head – Commercial Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are delighted to continue to partner with UPSRTC in their efforts to expand and improve public transport. The Tata LPO 1618 bus chassis is engineered to deliver robust and reliable mobility with high uptime and low maintenance and operating costs. We look forward to commencing supplies as per the guidance of UPSRTC.”
