
In a groundbreaking collaboration, Hyundai Motor Company and Toyota Motor Corporation have announced the inaugural ‘Hyundai N x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival, at the Everland Speedway in Yong-in, South Korea. This unique motorsport event aims to immerse customers and fans in the high-performance culture of both brands while showcasing their cutting-edge vehicles.
The festival will feature a special ‘Track Day’ where attendees can witness Hyundai N and Toyota GR vehicles in action. Euisun Chung, Executive Chair of Hyundai Motor Group, will be present, alongside Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation, who is known for his active involvement in motorsports under the moniker ‘Morizo.’
Hyundai N plans to showcase a variety of rally cars from its successful World Rally Championship (WRC) program, including the i20 N Rally 1 Hybrid and i20 N Rally 2, driven by renowned drivers Thierry Neuville, Dani Sordo, and Andreas Mikkelsen. Additionally, TCR drivers Norbert Mischelisz and Mikel Azcona will demonstrate Hyundai’s production lineup, featuring the IONIQ 5 N and Elantra N models.
Toyota’s display will include the GR YARIS Rally 1 Hybrid, GR Yaris Rally 2, GR Supra, and GR86, alongside other high-performance vehicles. Current WRC driver Takamoto Katsuta, TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team principal Jari-Matti Latvala, and nine-time Japan Rally Champion Norihiko Katsuta are among the Toyota drivers participating in the event.
Looking towards the future of motorsport, the festival will also feature innovative prototypes such as Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 N Drift Spec and hydrogen-powered N Vision 74, along with the record-holding IONIQ 5 N TA Spec from Pikes Peak. Toyota will unveil the TOYOTA GAZOO Racing hydrogen combustion engine AE86 H2 Concept and the liquid hydrogen-powered GR Corolla, highlighting the brands’ commitment to sustainable racing technologies.
