The Tata Motors Group reported a significant 11% year-on-year decline in global wholesales for the second quarter of FY25, totaling 3,04,189 units. The drop was seen across the company’s commercial and passenger vehicle segments, including Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).

Commercial Vehicles Witness Sharp Decline

The global wholesales of Tata Motors’ commercial vehicles, including the Tata Daewoo range, dropped by 19% to 86,133 units in Q2 FY25, compared to the same period last year. This sharp fall reflects ongoing challenges in global demand for commercial transportation solutions.

Passenger Vehicles See Moderate Drop

In the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors recorded global wholesales of 1,30,753 units, a 6% decrease compared to Q2 FY24. The decline highlights a tightening market as consumer spending on new vehicles slows globally.

Jaguar Land Rover Sales Also Slide

Jaguar Land Rover, the luxury subsidiary of Tata Motors, saw its global wholesales decline by 10%, with 87,303 vehicles sold in Q2 FY25. Jaguar’s performance was notably weak, with just 5,961 vehicles sold during the quarter. Land Rover, which remains the stronger performer, accounted for 81,342 units but still saw a year-on-year drop.

This overall decline across Tata Motors’ portfolio reflects ongoing industry challenges, from supply chain disruptions to softening demand in key markets.
