With the Defining Electric Safety campaign, Mercedes-Benz is underlining its aim to build the safest cars in the world and that safety is not a matter of the drivetrain. An eight-stage safety concept protects the battery in the vehicle's floor.

Safety has always been a core value of Mercedes-Benz, embedded in the company’s DNA and a key responsibility it upholds. Known for pioneering innovations in vehicle safety, Mercedes-Benz has launched a new campaign, “Defining Electric Safety,” which reinforces its commitment to building the safest vehicles in the world, particularly focusing on its all-electric models.

This campaign builds on the momentum from fall 2023, when Mercedes-Benz made headlines by showcasing the world’s first frontal crash test between two electric vehicles (the EQA and EQS SUV). The new campaign highlights scenarios where advanced safety systems prevent potential accidents. In one situation, lane departure assistance stops a driver from veering off course, avoiding a head-on collision. In another, a driver accidentally crosses a stop line after sneezing, but the Mercedes-Benz vehicle’s autonomous emergency braking system prevents the likely crash, safeguarding all road users.
