TVS Motor Company has set a new milestone, registering its highest-ever monthly sales in September 2024 with 482,495 units sold, marking a 20% growth compared to 402,553 units in September 2023.
The company’s two-wheeler segment saw impressive growth, with sales increasing by 22% to 471,792 units, up from 386,955 units in the same month last year. Domestic two-wheeler sales jumped 23%, reaching 369,138 units from last year’s 300,493 units.
Significant Growth in Motorcycle and Scooter Sales
Motorcycle sales surged by 23%, recording 229,268 units sold in September 2024, compared to 186,438 units in September 2023. Scooters also posted a 20% growth, with sales climbing to 186,751 units from 155,526 units last year.
Electric Vehicle Sales Skyrocket
TVS Motor’s electric vehicle (EV) segment experienced exceptional growth, with a 42% increase in sales. The company sold 28,901 EVs in September 2024, up from 20,356 units in the previous year, continuing its strong push into the EV market.
International Business and Three-Wheeler Sales
Exports rose by 11%, with sales increasing from 100,294 units in September 2023 to 111,007 units in September 2024. Two-wheeler exports, in particular, grew by 19%, reaching 102,654 units.
However, three-wheeler sales dipped slightly, with 10,703 units sold in September 2024, compared to 15,598 units last year.
Quarterly Performance
For the second quarter of FY 2024-25, TVS Motor’s two-wheeler sales grew 15%, totaling 11.90 lakh units, up from 10.31 lakh units in the same period last year. Total exports for the quarter also saw an 11% growth, with 3.09 lakh units sold.
TVS Motor’s robust performance in September highlights its continued dominance in both the domestic and international markets, driven by strong growth across two-wheeler and EV segments.
