Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd., the parent company of Musashi India and a leading manufacturer of transmission components for two- and four-wheelers, has announced a strategic partnership with Log9 Materials, an advanced battery technology company. This collaboration aims to revolutionize the electric vehicle (EV) sector by integrating Musashi’s high-performance e-Axle system with Log9’s cutting-edge battery technology, creating a tailored powertrain solution for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.
The partnership addresses critical challenges in EV energy management, scalability, and service reliability, enhancing overall performance and durability. By seamlessly integrating battery packs with e-Axles, the companies seek to reduce energy losses typically associated with conventional powertrains, thereby extending vehicle range and improving performance, especially in densely populated urban environments.
Designed for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the collaboration aims to establish new benchmarks for efficiency and innovation within the EV sector, targeting both the Indian and global markets.
Mr. Pankaj Sharma, Co-Founder of Log9 Materials, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Musashi as we work together toward a shared vision of advancing high-end engineering solutions for electric vehicles. By combining Musashi’s expertise in manufacturing with Log9’s advanced battery technology, we aim to deliver the most efficient powertrain solutions to the market. This collaboration strengthens our commitment to decarbonizing the world through innovative technology.”
Mr. Hiroshi Otsuka, President and Group CEO of Musashi, noted, “This partnership marks a significant milestone in our vision to reshape the electric mobility landscape. By joining forces with Log9, we are committed to delivering a comprehensive, high-performance solution tailored for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Our goal is to address market gaps and offer an integrated system that enhances energy efficiency while optimizing the synergy between battery and drivetrain systems.”
A key feature of this partnership is the centralized service model for the integrated battery and e-Axle systems, designed to reduce repair downtime and improve customer satisfaction through quicker service turnaround. By setting new benchmarks in powertrain development, Musashi and Log9 are ensuring that electric mobility becomes more efficient and accessible, particularly in regions like India and Southeast Asia, where two-wheelers and three-wheelers are vital for transportation and last-mile deliveries.
The partnership also aims to expand into global markets, including Southeast Asia and Africa, supported by a robust after-sales service network in major Indian cities. Musashi’s entry into the EV sector aligns with its strategic goals of fostering innovation and contributing to global carbon emission reduction efforts. This collaboration is positioned to play a crucial role in accelerating EV adoption, delivering high-performance solutions that drive the transition toward sustainable transportation.
