In a bold move that underscores its leadership in the Indian automobile industry, Tata Motors has unveiled two exciting new variants of its immensely popular Nexon SUV: the Nexon iCNG, India’s first turbocharged CNG vehicle, and the Nexon.ev with a larger 45 kWh battery pack. The launch also includes the new flagship Red Hot DARK edition of the Nexon.ev, further enhancing the SUV’s appeal.
With more than seven lakh units sold since its launch in 2017, the Nexon has cemented its position as a top contender in India’s fast-growing SUV market. Speaking at the launch event, Mr. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, “The Nexon’s popularity has been driven by continuous technological innovation, and today’s launches ensure that there’s a Nexon for every customer need.”
Nexon iCNG: The First Turbocharged CNG SUV in India
The Nexon iCNG, powered by a 1.2L turbocharged engine, sets new benchmarks with its impressive output of 100PS and 170NM of torque. It offers the best of both worlds – eco-friendly driving and uncompromising performance. With innovative twin-cylinder technology, it boasts a class-leading boot space of 321 litres, along with premium features such as a panoramic sunroof, ventilated leatherette seats, and a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment screen.
Safety remains paramount in the Nexon iCNG, which is built on a 5-star G-NCAP rated architecture and features advanced safety technologies including leak detection, fire protection devices, and rear impact protection. The Nexon iCNG is priced starting at ₹13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
Nexon.ev 45 kWh: A New Era in Electric Mobility
In addition to the CNG variant, Tata Motors has introduced the Nexon.ev with a 45 kWh battery pack, offering an enhanced real-world range of 350-370 km. The new variant addresses one of the biggest concerns in EV adoption – range anxiety – and ensures hassle-free intercity travel. The Red Hot DARK edition of the Nexon.ev takes this a step further with exclusive red accents, a panoramic sunroof, and advanced features like vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology.
With ex-showroom prices starting at ₹13.99 lakh for the Nexon.ev 45 and going up to ₹17.19 lakh for the Red Hot DARK edition, Tata Motors continues its mission to make electric mobility more accessible and desirable in India.
By launching these new models, Tata Motors reiterates its commitment to delivering innovation, sustainability, and premium experiences to customers across the country.
