Thunder Plus has teamed up with India’s Department of Post to launch the country’s first EV charging station within a public post office. The innovative project debuted at the Sainikpuri Head Post Office in Hyderabad.
Rajeev YSR, CEO of Thunder Plus Charging Solutions, explained that the initiative supports the company’s mission to alleviate ‘charging anxiety’ for EV owners throughout India. He pointed out that India Post’s vast network of facilities offers a valuable opportunity to create a broad and dependable EV charging infrastructure. This first post office-based charging station is part of a larger plan to expand across various public and government sites nationwide.
Sreelatha, Chief Postmaster General of Telangana, stressed the significance of collaboration in addressing infrastructure challenges. While India is advancing in electric vehicle adoption, obstacles like real estate coordination, electricity access, and cost-effective charging solutions remain. She noted that this collaboration aims to bolster the EV ecosystem, benefiting all involved.
