In a significant move towards sustainable logistics, Volvo Trucks has secured a landmark order from global logistics giant DSV for 300 electric heavy trucks. This deal marks one of Volvo’s largest commercial orders to date and will position DSV with one of the largest fleets of electric heavy trucks in Europe.

As part of the agreement, the two companies will collaborate on deploying 300 zero-exhaust emission electric trucks across DSV’s European operations. This initiative aligns with DSV’s broader goal of incorporating 2,000 electric trucks into its fleet by 2030. Additionally, the order includes 500 Volvo trucks equipped with highly fuel-efficient diesel and gas drivelines, with deliveries scheduled between 2024 and 2026.

Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, expressed pride in deepening the partnership with DSV, emphasizing that collaboration is crucial for achieving sustainable transport and substantial CO2 reductions. Alm noted that this order reflects DSV’s trust in Volvo and demonstrates that zero-exhaust emissions transport is a practical solution today.

DSV, already a major transporter of goods for the Volvo Group, will integrate the new Volvo FH Aero Electric trucks, known for their enhanced aerodynamics and energy efficiency, into its fleet. The company has already incorporated electric trucks from Volvo in Sweden and Denmark, supported by charging infrastructure powered by solar energy at its distribution centers.

Both Volvo Trucks and DSV are committed to the Science-based Targets initiative, which supports climate action aligned with the Paris Agreement’s goals. Since 2019, Volvo has delivered over 3,800 electric trucks to customers in 46 countries, driving a combined 90 million kilometers globally.

This partnership marks a significant step in reducing emissions in the transport industry and advancing the green transition on European roads.
