In a significant step towards enhancing electric mobility in Gujarat, 22 new electric buses were flagged off today in Rajkot. Manufactured and operated by PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., these buses are set to make a substantial impact on the city’s public transport system. The flag-off ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Mr. Pradeep Dav, former Mayor of Rajkot; Mr. Jamin Thakar, Chairman of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC); Mr. Mukesh Doshi, President of BJP; and Mr. Swapnil Khare, Deputy Municipal Commissioner of RMC.
With the addition of these buses, Rajkot will now have a fleet of 109 air-conditioned electric buses. The new 33-seater electric buses feature semi-low floors to ensure easy access for passengers with special needs, as well as a comfortable journey for all riders. This initiative is expected to play a crucial role in reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
Dr. Aanchal Jain, CEO of PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd., expressed enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are excited to support Rajkot’s efforts to integrate advanced technology and sustainable practices into public mobility. We extend our gratitude to the officials at Rajkot Municipal Corporation for their support in launching these electric buses and inaugurating the Gondal Charging Station. This milestone is key in our mission towards safer, cleaner, and greener transportation, contributing significantly to our nation’s Net Zero goals.”
The Gondal Charging Station, which was also inaugurated today, is equipped with five 240kW GBT electric bus charging stations. The facility ensures optimal uptime with 24/7 operations, maintenance, and service support.

As part of Gujarat’s zero-carbon public mobility initiative, the new electric buses are zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) that are projected to reduce over 650 tons of CO2 annually. Powered by fast-charging lithium-ion batteries, the buses come with modern features including a Real-Time Passenger Information System (PIS), panic buttons for emergency stops, a Vehicle Location & Tracking System, CCTV cameras, a public address system, stop request buttons, and a Fire Detection & Alarm System. The driver’s dashboard is ergonomically designed to provide an intuitive and distraction-free driving experience.
PMI Electro Mobility Solutions is committed to supporting Gujarat’s green and sustainable public mobility efforts, aligning with global initiatives to combat climate change. The inauguration event was marked by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, government officials, and senior company executives.
