Kia India, a leading premium carmaker, reported robust sales of 21,300 units in June 2024, marking a 9.8% year-on-year growth compared to the 19,391 units sold in June 2023. The newly launched Sonet emerged as Kia’s best-selling model for the month, with an impressive 9,816 units sold.
Kia India’s performance in the first half of 2024 has also been noteworthy, with a healthy 126,137 unit sales, reflecting a 6% growth over the previous half-yearly sales. The Sonet contributed significantly to this success, accounting for 43% of the company’s H1 sales. The Seltos and Carens followed closely, contributing 32% and 25% respectively. This strong performance underscores the increasing preference for Kia vehicles among customers, driving the company’s growth momentum.
The company’s international demand also witnessed significant growth, with 3,206 units exported to the overseas market in June 2024. For the first half of 2024, Kia India’s export figures stand at 12,026 units, highlighting the global appeal of its ‘Make in India’ vehicles.
Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and National Head of Sales & Marketing, expressed optimism about the company’s performance. “We have observed a healthy month-on-month sales growth in H1 2024, averaging over 21,000 units per month. Our superior product offerings have consistently attracted customers to our showrooms throughout the year, maintaining a strong sales position. We are committed to sustaining this positive trend for the remainder of the year through network expansion and by adding value to our customers’ aspirations,” Brar said.
Recently, Kia India surpassed the milestone of exporting 2.5 lakh units to over 100 markets from its Anantapur plant. Over the years, Kia India has set a benchmark in terms of active safety, design, and innovative features, establishing itself as a formidable competitor in the automotive industry.
This remarkable growth trajectory positions Kia India as a leader in the premium car segment, with continued efforts to expand its market presence and meet customer expectations.
