Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the expansion of its next-generation NissanConnect services to Europe, offering buyers of the refreshed Nissan Qashqai an enhanced and personalized driving experience. This follows the successful launch of the updated NissanConnect Services in North America earlier this year.

Connecting Customers’ Digital Lives with Their Vehicles

The next-generation system now features Google built-in, allowing drivers to use Google Maps and access their favorite locations and points of interest once signed in with a personal Google Account. This integration reduces dependence on mobile phones and cellular networks, while over-the-air updates ensure map information remains current. Google Assistant provides hands-free help, enabling drivers to adjust functions such as air conditioning and navigation through natural language voice control.

Additionally, the new NissanConnect Services ecosystem includes apps available for download on Google Play, allowing users to enjoy music, podcasts, audiobooks, and more directly from their vehicle.

Enhanced Interface and Improved Operability

The updated user-interface design of the next-generation NissanConnect Services offers more intuitive operation and information recognition, reducing stress while driving. Users can share connected features like destination settings and remote air conditioning control through the app with family members.

The system also supports vehicle management, notifying owners via push notifications if windows are left open or doors are not properly closed. The NissanConnect Services app can also remind owners of parts replacements and allow them to schedule service appointments conveniently. For EV owners, the app identifies economical charging times based on remaining battery capacity and off-peak electricity hours.

New Experiences and Expanded Functionality

The onboard communication capabilities of the vehicle enable the evolution of more personalized features and the addition of new services even after the vehicle is purchased. Compared to the previous generation, the next-generation NissanConnect Services app now offers twice the number of vehicle functions that can be controlled, providing a more personalized experience that enhances the owner’s lifestyle both inside and outside the car.

Yukio Ito, Corporate Vice President in charge of Global Customer Experience and Connected Car Services, stated, “Nissan’s connected services have offered innovative ways to maximize the value of the car since telematics services started over 20 years ago. In line with our user-centered approach, Nissan is accelerating the provision of services that enrich our customers’ daily lives, ensuring they are connected, even when they aren’t in their vehicles.”

The expansion of updated NissanConnect Services into Europe follows the successful launch in North America on the updated 2024 Rogue earlier this year. Further expansion to additional regions and models will be announced in due course.
