Hyundai Motor Group has introduced cutting-edge robotic services at the Factorial Seongsu office building in Seoul, enhancing convenience and efficiency for occupants with the deployment of the DAL-e Delivery robot and the Hyundai WIA Parking Robot.

The DAL-e Delivery robot, developed by Hyundai Motor and Kia, is designed to navigate autonomously across the building, delivering beverages and other items quickly and efficiently. Equipped with AI Face Identification technology boasting a 99.9% accuracy rate, the robot ensures precise and reliable service. It features an 11.6-inch high-resolution display and can carry up to 16 cups of coffee or items weighing up to 10 kg at a time.

“When a customer orders a drink through the mobile app, DAL-e Delivery picks it up from the café and delivers it to the specified location,” explained Dong Jin Hyun, Vice President and Head of Robotics LAB at Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation. “This service aims to make Factorial Seongsu the first building to apply our Robot Total Solution, setting a new standard for space innovation.”

The Hyundai WIA Parking Robot offers autonomous parking solutions, capable of handling vehicles weighing up to 2.2 tons and maneuvering at speeds of up to 1.2 meters per second. Its ability to move in any direction allows it to park cars in tight spaces, significantly increasing parking space utilization. The Parking Robot has already been commercialized successfully at the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center in Singapore and will soon be introduced to the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America.

Shindan Kang, Vice President and Head of Mobility Solution Planning Group of Hyundai WIA, highlighted the robot’s capabilities: “Our autonomous Parking Robot, equipped with cameras and lidar sensors, ensures precise vehicle handling and enhanced safety by detecting nearby people.”

Starting in the third quarter, the Parking Robot will collaborate with Hyundai Motor and Kia’s Automatic Charging Robot (ACR) to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging services. The ACR, featuring deep learning-based charging port recognition, will automatically charge vehicles and return them to their parking spots once the process is complete.

Hyundai WIA has also developed a Smart Parking Control System capable of managing up to 50 parking robots simultaneously, optimizing vehicle distribution and enhancing efficiency in unattended parking lots.

The introduction of these advanced robotic services at Factorial Seongsu marks a significant step in Hyundai Motor Group’s plan to expand its Robot Total Solution to various buildings, demonstrating the company’s commitment to technological innovation and enhanced urban living.
