BMW is set to captivate automotive enthusiasts at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, featuring a series of world premieres, including the highly anticipated debut of the new BMW X3. The event, held from July 11-14, will showcase BMW’s latest innovations and iconic vehicles, promising an exhilarating experience for festivalgoers.
The new BMW X3 will make its global debut alongside another significant world premiere at BMW’s Trackside stand on Thursday, July 11, at 10:30 am (BST). Additionally, the exclusive BMW M4 CS will be seen for the first time in the UK, ready to conquer the famous 1.16-mile Goodwood Hillclimb.
BMW’s Hypercar, the BMW M Hybrid V8, will also take on the hill, fresh from its participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This return to the top category at Le Mans marks 25 years since the BMW V12 LMR’s historic victory. To commemorate this, the BMW Group Classic will bring the V12 LMR to Goodwood, along with other legendary racing cars, including the BMW 318i touring car driven by Johnny Cecotto and the BMW 2002 TIK with HRH Leopold Prince of Bavaria at the wheel.
The Stable Yard will be transformed into a display of luxury and cutting-edge technology, featuring the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, BMW Concept Skytop, and the one-of-a-kind BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA with its unique colour-change technology. The latest luxury models from BMW, including the flagship BMW i7 and the recently launched BMW i5 Touring, will also be showcased, alongside BMW Motorrad’s urban electric mobility offerings, the BMW CE 02 and CE 04.
The BMW R20 concept, BMW Motorrad’s latest design masterpiece, will be showcased at the festival, highlighting the legendary air-oil cooled Big Boxer engine. This bold mechanical creation will join the ‘First Glance and Road Bikes’ category, alongside the historic BMW R255/1 Compressor from BMW Group Classic.
The new BMW X3 M50 xDrive, the fourth generation of the popular SAV, promises greater sporting appeal and versatility. Powered by a 3.0-litre M TwinPower Turbo engine with 48V mild hybrid technology, it delivers 398 hp and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds.
The race-focused BMW M4 CS, with its 550 hp six-cylinder in-line engine and lightweight design, will also make its UK debut, tackling the hill with a 0 to 62 mph acceleration time of just 3.4 seconds.
Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to see the BMW M Hybrid V8 LMDh and learn about the 20th BMW Art Car, designed by internationally renowned artist Julie Mehretu, which played a special role at this year’s Le Mans.
