The new MINI Countryman D has joined the MINI family, offering an efficient two-liter four-cylinder diesel engine that adds a compelling option to the existing range of electric and gasoline engines. Designed to be agile in urban settings and comfortable in rural landscapes, the MINI Countryman D also boasts increased interior space, making it a versatile choice for diverse driving needs.
The diesel engine features a 48-volt mild hybrid electric motor integrated into the transmission, which enhances braking energy recovery and supports the diesel engine with an additional 14 kW of electric power. This setup ensures the MINI Countryman D responds swiftly at low engine speeds and maintains impressive efficiency on the road.
With a combined fuel consumption of 4.9 — 4.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of 127 — 120 g/km (WLTP), the diesel engine delivers 120 kW/163 hp, propelling the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The direct steering, paired with the single-joint McPherson strut front axle and multi-link rear axle, guarantees the signature MINI go-kart driving experience.
The MINI Countryman D’s purist design can be tailored with four trim variants—Essential, Classic, Favoured, and John Cooper Works. In the Favoured Trim with Midnight Black metallic paint, the vehicle presents a striking stance, highlighted by a vibrant silver octagonal front grille and distinctive MINI LED headlamps. Short overhangs emphasize its agile character, while the elegant roof design and standard piano black roof rails enhance its practicality. Various light alloy wheels, ranging from 17 to 21 inches, are available to complete the look.
Inside, the MINI Countryman D offers increased comfort with three centimeters of additional width for the driver and front passenger. The rear seat, which can move up to 13 centimeters, allows for either more legroom or expanded cargo space. The backrest can be adjusted in six positions, increasing trunk volume from 450 liters to up to 1460 liters when folded down.
Innovative textile surfaces on the dashboard and interior door panels create a homely atmosphere, further enhanced by a panoramic glass roof. The central cockpit features a 240 mm round OLED display, providing intuitive control of infotainment and assistance systems via touch or voice command. Driving functions are managed by the characteristic MINI toggle switch strip.
The MINI Experience Modes offer an immersive driving experience with visual design, ambient lighting, and innovative sound design. For the first time, the MINI Countryman includes Driving Assistant Plus, enabling partially automated Level 2 driving on motorway-like routes, allowing hands-free driving up to 60 km/h with attentive monitoring.
