Hyundai Motor Company today unveiled the first official teaser images of its highly anticipated new A-segment sub-compact electric vehicle, the INSTER. Derived from the words “intimate” and “innovative,” the INSTER represents a significant evolution from Hyundai’s Korea-only, petrol-powered CASPER introduced in 2021.

The teaser images reveal a robust yet compact SUV profile, featuring signature LED daytime running lights, pixel-graphic turn signals, and distinctive tail lamps, showcasing a fresh and modern design language. Hyundai promises that the INSTER will set new benchmarks in driving range, technology, and safety features, aiming to redefine customer expectations in the sub-compact EV market.

With a projected maximum range of 355 kilometers (WLTP) on a single charge, the INSTER is poised to offer remarkable efficiency and convenience for urban and suburban drivers alike. The global debut of the INSTER is scheduled for the Busan International Mobility Show later this month, where further details will be unveiled.

In Korea, the INSTER will be marketed as the CASPER Electric, paying homage to its predecessor while embracing a forward-thinking electric future. Hyundai’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is clearly embodied in the INSTER, positioning it as a leading contender in the burgeoning sub-compact EV segment.
