BMW M 1000 RR riders showcased exceptional performance at the 2024 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, securing a historic triple 1-2 finish in the 1000cc motorcycle races. Dominating the Superbike, Superstock, and Senior TT events, BMW celebrated three victories and three second places, further cementing their legacy at this prestigious road race event.
Davey Todd (GBR) emerged as the star of the week, claiming victories in both the Superstock race and the illustrious Senior TT. Peter Hickman (GBR) triumphed in the Superbike race, adding to his impressive TT record with his 14th win. Josh Brookes (AUS) also shone brightly, achieving second place in the Senior TT, marking his first podium in this event.
The racing week commenced on Sunday, June 2, with the Superbike TT race. Peter Hickman, riding the BMW M 1000 RR for the Monster Energy BMW by FHO Racing team, secured victory in an exhilarating race, followed closely by Davey Todd on the Milwaukee BMW Motorrad by TAS Racing M RR, ensuring a BMW 1-2 finish.
Bad weather conditions caused several delays, but the first Superstock TT race on Thursday, June 6, saw Davey Todd outpace Hickman in a thrilling duel, clinching his maiden TT win. Hickman secured second place, continuing his strong performance. Unfortunately, the second Superstock race was canceled due to weather-related delays.
The highlight of the event, the Senior TT, took place on Saturday, June 8. Davey Todd delivered an outstanding performance, winning the race with a significant lead, earning his name on the prestigious Senior TT winners’ list. This victory marked the first Senior TT win for the Milwaukee BMW Motorrad by TAS Racing team in two decades. Josh Brookes secured second place, achieving his first podium finish in the Senior TT, while Hickman, who initially led the race, crashed but escaped unscathed.
