Refex eVeelz, part of Refex Group’s Green Mobility vertical, launched a new fleet of electric vehicle (EV) airport taxis at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The fleet includes 175 compact SUVs available in teal and pink.

Hari Marar, Managing Director & CEO of Bangalore International Airport Ltd, highlighted the airport’s sustainability efforts, saying, “Our commitment to environmental sustainability drives us to innovate. The new EV taxi fleet and our tree planting initiative significantly reduce our carbon footprint and enhance green spaces. We have planted 100 trees on campus to nurture and revitalize the surroundings. These initiatives enhance the ecosystem and elevate the experience for passengers and the local community.”

Passengers can book the EV taxis at airport taxi stands or through the BLR Pulse mobile app. The teal SUVs symbolize BLR Airport’s dedication to sustainability, while the pink ones, operated by female drivers, cater to female passengers, who also receive a ‘Pink Card’ with essential contact information for added safety.

Anil Jain, Managing Director of Refex Group, remarked, “Refex’s Green Mobility division is dedicated to providing dependable, safe, and environmentally friendly transportation solutions with Refex eVeelz. Our fully electric fleet and dedicated driver partners provide a safe and sustainable commuting experience.”

With the Refex eVeelz fleet, over 50% of the airport’s vehicles are now electric, significantly reducing carbon emissions. This aligns with Bangalore International Airport Ltd’s long-term vision of transitioning all airport vehicles to sustainable options, contributing to broader environmental goals.

Refex eVeelz, launched in March 2023, has already covered over 7.5 million kilometers, reducing nearly 375,000 kg of CO2 equivalent. Their technology includes end-to-end monitoring, tech-based routing, alerts, and notifications, offering a comprehensive e-mobility solution for both corporate and individual passengers.
