Kia Motors has revealed comprehensive details of the new Kia EV3, a dedicated compact electric SUV that promises to set new standards in the EV sector. Drawing inspiration from the acclaimed EV9, the EV3 stands out with its bold design, cutting-edge technology, and innovative features, aimed at broadening the appeal of EV SUVs and elevating customer expectations.

Striking Design and Progressive Features

The EV3, reflecting Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, boasts a dynamic and dramatic exterior. The vertical headlamps and the signature Tiger Face design with Star Map lighting emphasize a confident and assertive stance. The sleek roofline and robust body design convey agility and strength, while exclusive colors such as Aventurine Green and Terracotta add to its allure.

The GT-line variant enhances this boldness with contrasting lower body trim and sportier bumper designs, creating a rugged and adventurous look.

Spacious and Sustainable Interior

Inside, the EV3 offers a spacious cabin that comfortably accommodates five people. The design integrates sustainable materials, including recycled fabrics and polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The elegant center console with a sliding table and ample storage space enhances practicality. A near-30-inch widescreen display and multi-adjustable ambient lighting contribute to a sophisticated and relaxing environment.

Advanced Electric Drivetrain

Built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV3 features a 58.3kWh battery for the Standard model and an 81.4kWh battery for the Long Range variant. Both models are equipped with a 150kW/283Nm electric motor, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration in 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 170km/h. The Long Range variant offers an impressive driving range of up to 600km (WLTP), with a fast-charging capability that can replenish the battery from 10-80% in approximately 31 minutes.

Safety and Convenience

Kia has equipped the EV3 with advanced safety features, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. The Remote Smart Parking Assist and the 12-inch Head-up Display further enhance the driving experience. The EV3 is also the first in its segment to feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging and the new i-Pedal 3.0 regenerative braking technology.

Enhanced Connectivity and AI Integration

Kia’s EV3 offers a suite of connectivity and entertainment features, including a premium streaming service and in-car gaming, supported by LG’s Automotive Content Platform. The integration of Kia’s AI Assistant technology, powered by generative AI, provides intuitive and natural interaction with the vehicle’s features.

Global Launch and Campaign

Kia plans to launch the EV3 in South Korea in July 2024, with a subsequent European release in the latter half of the year. The global campaign, themed ‘A moving power,’ underscores Kia’s commitment to innovation and expanding sustainable mobility options.

With its groundbreaking design, advanced technology, and practical features, the Kia EV3 is poised to lead the mass adoption of electric vehicles, offering an exceptional EV SUV experience to a wider audience.
