BMW M Team WRT showcased a dominant performance during the second season event of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Sprint Cup at Misano, securing victories in both races. The Belgian team’s impressive weekend featured a home victory for Valentino Rossi (ITA) alongside Maxime Martin (BEL) in the first race, followed by an unbeatable performance by Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts (both BEL) in the second race under the night sky.

In the Sprint Cup overall standings, Vanthoor and Weerts have taken the lead after the season’s first two events. Friday’s qualifying sessions, which saw BMW M Team WRT securing pole positions, set the stage for their dominance throughout the weekend.

Race Highlights

Race 1: Valentino Rossi and Maxime Martin clinched a home victory, repeating their success from last season. Their triumph was followed by a second-place finish by teammates Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts, securing a one-two result for the BMW M4 GT3.

Race 2: Held in the evening darkness, Vanthoor and Weerts delivered a flawless performance to claim victory. Rossi and Martin finished third, rounding off a successful weekend for the team.

Silver Cup Success

In the Silver Cup category, Calan Williams (AUS) and Sam De Haan (GBR) of Team WRT also celebrated two victories in the #30 BMW M4 GT3, significantly extending their lead in the overall standings.

Century Motorsport’s Impressive Debut

Century Motorsport marked their debut season in the GT World Challenge Europe with a second-place finish in the Bronze Cup in race two. BMW M works driver Dan Harper and Darren Leung (both GBR) shared the cockpit of the #991 BMW M4 GT3.
