Each year, experts from the “Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club e.V.” (ADAC) test around 100 cars, evaluating them based on over 350 criteria in seven main categories. The ID.7 from Volkswagen scored exceptionally well in engine/drive (1.0), safety (1.1), environmental impact (1.2), and comfort (1.5). It also performed well in other categories that contribute to the overall rating: driving characteristics (2.1), body/luggage space (2.3), and interior (2.4). Because the environment and safety categories have the most influence on the final score, the ID.7 achieved an overall score of 1.5, earning it a ‘very good’ rating.
The test was done on a Volkswagen ID.7 Pro with a power output of 210 kW (286 PS). It stood out for its high energy efficiency, using only 18.1 kWh/100 km in the ADAC Ecotest, making it one of the most economical mid-sized cars. It scored 0.7 in the ‘Consumption/CO2’ sub-category and earned a full five stars in the Ecotest, which has been part of ADAC’s vehicle tests for over 20 years. The only higher score was 0.6 in the ‘Active safety – Assistance systems’ sub-category. Additionally, with a starting price of 53,995 euros, the ID.7 Pro is cheaper than the previously top-rated models from other brands.
