Ather Energy, a leading manufacturer of electric scooters in India, introduced its latest family scooter, the Rizta, at the Ather Community Day event in Bengaluru. Priced at INR 1,09,999 (Ex-showroom Bengaluru), the Rizta is designed to meet the needs of families. Tarun Mehta, Ather Energy’s co-founder and CEO, expressed confidence in the Rizta, stating, “This could be a game-changer for Ather, surpassing the success of the 450 model.”
The Rizta prioritizes comfort, convenience, and safety, featuring new connected features like SkidControl and WhatsApp integration on the dashboard. It is available in two models – Rizta S and Rizta Z, with the Rizta Z model equipped with a higher capacity battery of 3.7 kWh. The price of Rizta S is INR 124,999 and the price of Rizta Z at INR 144,999 (Ex-showroom Bengaluru). Bookings for the Rizta are now open, and deliveries are scheduled to commence in June 2024.
Compared to Ather’s previous model, the 450, the Rizta is priced INR 5000 lower at its base price. It offers a variety of colors, including monotone and dual-tone options, and promises a range of 123 kms for the 2.9 kWh variants and 160 kms for the 3.7 kWh variant, making it suitable for daily commuting needs.
Ather Energy aims to redefine the family scooter segment with the Rizta, focusing on comfort, safety, and connected technology. Tarun Mehta emphasized, “The Rizta embodies Ather’s commitment to quality, reliability, and safety.”
The Rizta prioritizes rider and pillion comfort, featuring a spacious seat, large floorboard, and backrest. With 56L of storage space, including a 34L under-seat capacity and optional 22L Frunk accessory, the Rizta offers ample storage for everyday items. Additionally, it comes with a multi-purpose charger under the seat for charging electronic devices on the go.
Safety features on the Rizta include SkidControl™, a traction control system, along with FallSafe™, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Theft & Tow Detect, and Find My Scooter for added security. The scooter offers two riding modes – Zip and SmartEco, along with ride assist features from the previous 450 series.
