Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) under the Ministry of Power, has initiated a rate contract for leasing 1,000 electric cars (E-cars) nationwide over a period of 5 years.
As part of the initial phase within CESL’s ‘EV as a Service’ framework, the endeavor encompasses comprehensive fleet management services, encompassing maintenance, insurance, and the provision for optional drivers.
Vishal Kapoor, Managing Director and CEO of CESL highlighted, “The ‘EV as a Service’ model adopts a distinctive procurement approach, enabling the deployment of E-Cars from various makes/models available in India, adhering to the Make in India guidelines.”
He underscored the adherence to regulatory protocols to facilitate smooth leasing and rental processes for these vehicles. This initiative is poised to foster greater adoption of electric vehicles within the leasing and rental domain, aligning with the nation’s aspirations for sustainable and eco-friendly mobility solutions.
