In a move towards sustainable transportation, Rahul Yadav, the Chief Executive Officer of Jammu Smart City, inaugurated an electric bus service from Jammu to the Suchetgarh border for the convenience of locals and tourists.

The launch coincided with the Border Security Force (BSF) extending the beating retreat ceremony schedule at Border Outpost Octroi near the International Border in Suchetgarh.

The electric bus, operated by Jammu Smart City, aims to provide an eco-friendly transit option, running four days a week to facilitate sightseeing and attendance at the retreat ceremony.

This initiative aligns with the government’s border tourism promotion program and the broader adoption of electric buses in Jammu, with 100 such buses being operated and maintained by Tata Motors for 12 years.

The buses, launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, have garnered a positive response since their introduction, contributing to sustainable mobility in the region.
