Ultraviolette, a trailblazer in forward-looking electric mobility solutions and energy technology, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024. The agreement aims to deploy electric vehicle charging stations at key HPCL fuel stations throughout India.

The partnership aims to create an electric vehicle charging network at HPCL’s fuel stations, enabling nationwide travel for electric motorcycles. In the initial phase, Ultraviolette plans to install charging stations at HPCL retail fuel pumps in 12 selected states, with further expansion nationwide. This endeavor will encompass National and State highways, reaching even remote areas, leveraging HPCL’s widespread network of retail fuel pumps.

Ultraviolette’s F77 electric motorcycles, providing an outstanding IDC range of 307 km with a single charge, allow riders to partake in intercity journeys and extended-distance explorations. The partnership between Ultraviolette and HPCL aims to facilitate seamless long-distance electric motorcycle travel, providing a convenient and accessible means to explore the vast expanse of the country.

Niraj Rajmohan, CTO, and co-founder of Ultraviolette conveyed pleasure in joining forces with HPCL, highlighting the common goal of establishing a strong EV charging network. He believes this strategic collaboration will leverage HPCL’s extensive network to offer a seamless and hassle-free charging experience, actively contributing to establishing a national charging infrastructure for electric motorcycles. The partnership is in harmony with the ambitious goal of the Indian government to achieve a cleaner and sustainable mobility environment by 2030.

Debashis Chakraverty, Chief General Manager of Retail Strategy and Business Development at HPCL, highlighted the company’s leading role in promoting EV adoption by setting up charging infrastructure. HPCL aims to establish 5,000 charging stations by December 2024, with over 2,600 charging stations currently available at HPC outlets across the country. The alliance with Ultraviolette is expected to further bolster EV adoption in the 2W segment.
