India’s Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, showcasing the country’s prowess in the mobility and automotive sectors. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, is India’s largest mobility exhibition, featuring exhibitions, conferences, buyer-seller meets, state sessions, a road safety pavilion, and public-centric attractions like go-karting.

Addressing the audience, Prime Minister Modi praised the automotive industry for organizing such a grand event and commended exhibitors for showcasing their products. He expressed delight and confidence in the event’s grandeur and scale, inviting the people of Delhi to witness the showcase of India’s mobility and supply chain community.

Reiterating the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the pivotal role of the mobility sector in achieving this vision. He emphasized the current era as the beginning of a golden period for the sector, citing India’s rapid progress in mobility.

Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, Shri Piyush Goyal, welcomed the attendees, acknowledging Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to transform India into the world’s fifth-largest economy. Goyal praised Modi for his comprehensive initiatives, including turning India from a ‘fragile five’ nation to a trusted global partner.

Goyal emphasized the fiscal prudence of the interim budget 2024-2025, noting the historic allocation of capital expenditure for infrastructure projects, totalling Rs 11,11,111 crore. He expressed the belief that combined infrastructure spending by the central and state governments will boost the mobility sector.

Praising India’s developmental growth in inland waterways and ports, Goyal expressed confidence in India’s ability to meet global demands. He lauded the Interim Budget 2024-25, foreseeing a gradual reduction in fiscal deficit, interest rates, and inflation, creating favorable conditions for business activities.

Goyal applauded Prime Minister Modi’s foresight in creating world-class centers like ‘Bharat Mandapam’ and ‘YashoBhoomi,’ solidifying India’s global leadership in hosting conferences and conventions.

Regarding the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, Goyal highlighted its significance as the first-time mobility and allied sectors, including startups, have united on one stage. He emphasized that the expo would showcase India’s engineering capabilities, from cutting-edge technologies to sustainable solutions, predicting India’s emergence as the world’s largest EV market by 2030.

Goyal encouraged stakeholders to transform the automotive landscape in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, enabling efficient, sustainable, and inclusive mobility for the nation. He also announced an upcoming textile exhibition from February 26-29, demonstrating the vision of 3S – speed, skill, and scale, presenting a new vision of a developed India to the world.
