Porsche has introduced the Macan EV to the Indian market after a global release of sketch designs. The Macan EV will be available in two variants: Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. However, Porsche India will exclusively offer the Macan Turbo, priced at ₹1.65 crore ex-showroom. Bookings for the electric SUV are now open, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the second half of the year.
The Macan 4 boasts a maximum power of 402 bhp and a peak torque of 650 Nm, accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 220 kmph. The claimed WLTP range for this is 613 km. Its 95 kWh battery pack can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in 21 minutes using 270kW on an 800V DC system.
In contrast, the Macan Turbo delivers 630 bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of up to 1,130 Nm in overboost mode, achieving a top speed of 260 kmph and accelerating from 0-100 kmph in 3.3 seconds. The Macan Turbo’s WLTP claimed range is 591 km.
In terms of dimensions, the Macan Electric has grown, being 103 mm longer, 15 mm wider, and 2 mm lower than the ICE version of the Macan. It utilizes the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture co-developed with Audi, which will also be featured in upcoming vehicles like the Audi Q6 E-Tron and Cayenne Electric. The design language now draws inspiration from the Taycan, featuring four LED elements for daytime running lamps, a redesigned rear with coupe-like aesthetics, and a new set of flatter LED tail lamps connected via a lightbar.
Internally, the Macan Electric exhibits an upscale appearance, sharing design elements with the Cayenne. The cabin offers up to three screens, including a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch infotainment system. An optional 10.9-inch touchscreen is also available for the passenger.
