Audi achieved a milestone in 2023 by delivering approximately 1.9 million vehicles, experiencing a notable 51% increase in deliveries of fully electric vehicles, surpassing 178,000 units compared to the previous year. This surge in demand lays a solid foundation for a challenging yet transformative year, marked by a strategic emphasis on electromobility. A pivotal step in this direction is the scheduled world premiere of the Audi Q6 e-tron at the end of the first quarter of 2024.

Gernot Döllner, Audi CEO, acknowledges the brand’s robust position in the market, stating, “Audi is a strong brand with a clear focus on an electric future.” Despite anticipating challenges in 2024 due to heightened competition and global economic uncertainties, Audi remains committed to a clear plan prioritizing vehicle profitability. The brand plans to bolster its portfolio in 2024 and 2025 with new models, placing a significant focus on groundbreaking electric cars while introducing an entirely new generation of combustion engine models and plug-in hybrids.

Throughout 2023, Audi witnessed increased deliveries across all global regions, surpassing the overall market’s growth. Notably, the strong demand for fully electric models underscores the success of Audi’s electrification strategy. The company achieved a remarkable sales performance in key markets such as Europe, the USA, and China, posting a growth of over 17% in deliveries.

Hildegard Wortmann, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Audi, expresses gratitude to the international team and dealership partners for their impressive performance. The brand experienced robust growth in core markets, with particularly strong demand for fully electric models. In 2023, Audi delivered more than 178,000 fully electric vehicles, representing a notable 51% increase. The Audi Q4 e-tron, in particular, experienced a surge in demand with a remarkable growth rate of 112%.

Despite challenges in the market environment, Audi expanded its strong position in Germany, delivering over 252,000 vehicles, a growth of more than 17%. The USA, identified as a future and growth market, witnessed a record-breaking sales year for Audi in 2023 with around 229,000 deliveries, marking a 22% increase. China also played a crucial role in Audi’s success, with deliveries exceeding 729,000 units, a growth of over 13% compared to the previous year.

Audi’s commitment to advancing the electrification transformation is evident in the upcoming world premiere of the Audi Q6 e-tron, marking the introduction of the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) developed specifically for electric models. The company remains optimistic about meeting increased demand in 2024, thanks in part to an improved supply situation. Alongside fully electric models, popular vehicles like the Audi Q5, Audi A6, and Audi A4 also contributed to Audi’s success in 2023. Audi Sport, focusing on high-performance vehicles, achieved a five percent increase, delivering around 48,000 vehicles worldwide.

In summary, Audi’s impressive sales performance in 2023, coupled with a strategic focus on electrification and a diverse model portfolio, positions the brand strongly for the dynamic challenges and opportunities anticipated in the coming years.
