Orxa Energies has unveiled its latest electric motorcycle, the ‘Mantis,’ currently holding the title of the lightest in its category at 182 kg. Available in Urban Black and Jungle Grey, the Mantis is priced at Rs 3.6 lakh ex-showroom, Bengaluru, and is currently open for bookings.
The motorcycle features a 1.3 kW charger, achieving a top speed of 135 kmph and accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.9 seconds. The 0-20 kmph acceleration has been calibrated at 2.7 seconds, catering to city and urban traffic dynamics. With an 8.9 kWh battery pack, the Mantis offers an impressive range of 221 km.
The technological advancements and features incorporated in this electric bike have roots in Orxa Energies’ extensive work in the defense and aerospace sectors, as stated by a company official.
Prajwal Sabnis, one of the co-founders of Orxa Energies, shared, “In 2015, our journey commenced, culminating in the creation of the initial prototype that eventually evolved into the Mantis. Over the past eight years, we dedicated extensive efforts to refine the bike’s design and engineering. We rigorously tested and validated it by covering thousands of kilometers on highways, city roads, and gravel tracks across the country.”
