RACEnergy, a deep-tech company that focuses on electric vehicle infrastructure and battery swapping, has officially opened its battery production facility in Hyderabad, covering an area of 10,000 square feet. With a 50 MWh capacity, the plant has the capability to manufacture 30,000 batteries annually.

This development is in line with RACEnergy’s objective of producing 80,000 two and three-wheelers by 2025, a significant stride towards its goal of circulating 250,000 swappable batteries within the same timeframe.

A notable achievement for RACEnergy is their attainment of the AIS-156 Phase 2 certification, making them the first swappable battery company to do so. This certification ensures improved safety as well as enhanced performance for its battery technology.

Co-founder of RACEnergy, Arun Sreyas, expressed the significance of the facility’s launch, stating that it marks a significant milestone in their mission to revolutionize the electric mobility sector. With a daily network of 500 swaps, the facility empowers RACEnergy to efficiently meet the growing demand and expand its global market presence.

Co-founder Gautham Maheswaran emphasized the facility’s potential to strengthen their market presence and network by localizing critical components of the EV value stream. The in-house production of EV and battery parts, facilitated by the increased production capacity, will allow RACEnergy to extend battery usage and serve both domestic and international markets.
