A spokesperson for the Himachal Government said that a green-mobility committee has been formed to monitor and promote sustainable solutions in Shimla.
In a press release, an official stated that the committee would create a sustainable mobility strategy with a greater uptake of electric cars, which would support the decarbonization of Shimla. The principal secretary of transportation would serve as its chairman.
The statement released here stated that the committee would help with vision setting, act as a forum to facilitate interdepartmental collaboration and facilitate the buy-in of stakeholders.
It added that they would help with organizing workshops, capacity-building programs, and defining an action plan and timelines in addition to merging existing schemes in order to expedite project execution.
