Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal stated that 80% of Delhi’s bus fleet would run on electricity by 2025. He also said that the acquisition of electric buses would help reduce pollution in the capital.
He shared a roadmap to procure electric buses and said that the government would buy 1,500 of these buses by 2023, and 6,380 electric buses by 2025.

He said that more than 4,000 buses out of 7,379 are operated by Delhi Transport Corporation, and over 3,000 via the DIMTS.
Kejriwal also revealed that the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was operating nearly 100 electric feeder buses. He said that the Delhi government will take over the bus fleet of the corporation because it couldn’t run them.
“By 2025 there will be over 10,000 buses on Delhi’s roads, and 80% of them will have electric motors. He said that this is a significant step towards reducing pollution.
The Chief Minister said that the process of installing charging points at depots for electric buses is ongoing and three have it.
