EKA Mobility will use Level 2 autonomy and NuPort Robotics’ Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in its electric bus. The result is seamless driving with NuPort’s AI-enabled autonomous solutions on EKA’s EV platform.

A press release stated that the two companies will soon release a demonstration of their ADAS functionality. The technology will be applied to 5,000 EKA Mobility electric buses over the next few years. In the next few years, it will be working to significantly reduce accidents.

In the event of a collision with another vehicle, the driver will be alerted so that they can avoid potentially dangerous situations.

Sudhir Mehta (Pinnacle Industries and EKA’s Chairman) stated that the company believes in “think global, act local”. This partnership will help “transform our nation’s public transport system”, making it more technologically efficient, safe, and secure.

Raghavender Sahdev, CEO, NuPort Robotics, said “Today with the support of EKA Mobility, we have achieved robust and safe deployment of Level 2 autonomy features for commercial electric buses for Indian roads. Over the next few years, we will deploy our technology across India, with EKA being our first Indian customer.
