BYD India Private Limited, a subsidiary of the world’s leading new energy vehicle manufacturer, BYD, has delivered over 450 premium e6 eMPVs across India.
BYD first launched this model in the key cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vijaywada, and Kochi. The company has further expanded BYD India’s footprint by appointing dealer partners in Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Indore, Jaipur, Pune, and Kolkata. Recently, BYD India inaugurated its showrooms across five cities, i.e., Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad.
The All-New e6, India’s first premium eMPV, is the only EV in the country that is powered by a blade battery and has a trunk capacity of 580 litres. It can also generate power as low as 2 kmph. The e6 is equipped with a 71.7 kWh battery. It can travel 520 km in the city and 415 km combined on one charge.
The e6 eMPV comes with a 3-year/125,000 km vehicle warranty, an 8-year/500,000 km battery warranty, and an 8-year/150,000 km traction motor warranty.
After completing the sustainability drive initiative, the All-New e6 was recently added to the India Book of Records as the vehicle that covered the longest distance (2203 km) in an electric car. The ‘Sustainable Drive for a Sustainable India’ initiative saw this six-day journey from Mumbai to Delhi. It was intended to increase awareness about sustainability and EV adoption.
India will invest Rs 26,000 crore over the next five years to support automakers. BYD and its dealers will work together to bring more products to India, with the common goal of zero-emission and sustainable development.
Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Senior Vice President of Electric Passenger Vehicle Business, BYD India, said, “Starting from Kochi, we are getting closer to our target customers and are delighted to inaugurate our first showroom in the country with EVM Southcoast. We hope that our customised products and services will spur and accelerate green initiatives in the region.”
