Jitendra New EV Tech, a Nasik-based EV manufacturer, announced that it will provide 12,000 JMT 1000-3K electric scooters worth Rs 120 crore to logistics company FAE Bikes under a deal.
FAE Bikes will lease these scooters to potential EV buyers, who must take a test run before purchasing one in the cities including Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.
JMT 1000-3K is equipped with a 1000-W motor and a 3.12 kWh lithium battery. It claims it can run up to 126 km on one charge, with a speed of 52 km per hour.
Samkit Shah, the co-founder of Jitendra New EV Tech, stated that they view this deal not only as a strategic business transaction but also as an opportunity for EVs to be more accessible to a wider audience.
The company offers a range of 10 electric two-wheeler models that can be purchased through a network of 150 touchpoints across India.
Around 40 electric scooters belonging to the corporation caught fire in April after being transported from their manufacturing facility in a container. This prompted the company to launch an investigation into the incident.
FAE Bikes partners with several home logistics companies to facilitate door-to-door providers using its fleet of e–scooters.
FAE Bikes co-founder Nigam Krishna stated, “This deal is a crucial step for FAE Bikes’ endeavour to expand its offerings to a wider customer base and boosts our goal of driving increased EV use in India.”
