Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) partners with Bounce Infinity, a Bangalore-headquartered company to boost the EV adoption process by establishing a battery swapping infrastructure.

Bounce Infinity will establish its battery swapping stations at BPCL’s fuel stations in phases under this partnership. The company plans to open 3,000 stations in the top 10 Indian cities. The Bounce app allows consumers to search for nearby swapping locations and can swap their almost-drained batteries.

Smart frameworks will not only support the company’s retail operations, but also the interoperable partners (two, three-wheeler, and other OEM’s). This will allow for mobility across all geographies and form factors. According to the company, retrofitted two and three-wheelers with battery swapping capabilities will be able to use these battery swapping stations.

Bounce Infinity is currently involved in over 1.2 Million battery swaps for its energy infrastructure.

Vivekananda Hallakere, co-founder and CEO, Bounce said, “Bounce Infinity has been strategically partnering with prominent industry players to revolutionise the battery swapping scenario. This partnership reiterates our commitment towards a cleaner and pollution-free country by making our network accessible to consumers at the same scale and convenience as refuelling. We look forward to a long-lasting partnership between Bounce Infinity and BPCL”.

P S Ravi, ED In-Charge (Retail), BPCL said, “BPCL has always been at the forefront of providing all forms of energy solutions for personal and commercial mobility to our customers. As we pace ourselves for an exciting phase of energy transition towards clean energy, we are delighted to partner with Bounce Infinity, a leading start-up offering innovative and state-of-the-art smart battery swapping solutions for 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler EV customers.

Infinity Swapping Network has a smart battery, and the station also features IoT and sensors that allow it to communicate securely with the outside. This allows the company to scale intelligently and distribute its network without creating any imbalances in the grid. Bidirectional charging, or “V2G” (Vehicle to Grid Technology), is possible. This allows charged power to be sent back to the grid to balance energy consumption.
