NITI Aayog Releases Draft Battery Swapping Policy

Government’s think tank NITI Aayog today released the draft Battery Swapping Policy and invited comments and suggestions from all the stakeholders. India pledged to reduce carbon emissions intensity by 45% at the COP26 summit held in Glasgow. We will increase our non-fossil fuel energy capacity to 500 GW by 2030. We will also meet half of our energy needs from renewable energy by 2030. India is on track to achieve the Net Zero goal by 2070. Road transport is one of the main contributors to CO2 and accounts for one-third of particulate matter emissions, said the official statement.

Dabur To Deploy 100 Electric Vehicles For Last-Mile Product Distribution In India

Dabur India Ltd, the largest Ayurvedic and Natural Healthcare Company in the world, announced that it will induct 100 electric vehicles into its Supply Chain to facilitate last-mile product distribution. Dabur would be the first domestic consumer goods firm to own a fleet of electric vehicles for distribution. This will help the company achieve its goal of Carbon Neutrality in Operations. The company has begun deliveries to Haryana’s Sonepat region with the first batch of new electric vehicles. Mr Mohit Malhotra, Chief Executive Officer of Dabur India Ltd said that all 100 vehicles will be inducted in the next 12 months across the country. This move will lead to a significant reduction in carbon emissions each year. This move follows Dabur’s achievement of Plastic Waste Neutrality.

Biliti Electric To Setup World’s Largest Electric Three-Wheeler Manufacturing Factory In Telangana

Biliti Electric Inc (Biliti) announced that it intends to set up the world’s largest electric three-wheeler factory in India’s Telangana state, with a production capacity of 240,000 electric vehicles each year. The new plant is estimated to drive private investment of USD 150 million and expected to create over 3,000 jobs in the State aligning with the State’s policy to become a global hub for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage manufacturing. Biliti currently operates through an exclusive manufacturing partnership with Hyderabad-based Gayam Motor Works (GMW) for manufacturing its three-wheelers.

Maharashtra Will Have 2,19,345 EVs By 2025 And 12,08,704 EVs By 2030, Says Report

It is estimated that Maharashtra will have 2,19,345 electric vehicles (EVs) On-Road by 2025 and 12,08,704 EVs by 2030. The chargers needed for these EVs would be 21,096 by 2025 and 1,41,988 by 2030. Mumbai is one of the most vulnerable cities to the hazards of climate change. The Government of Maharashtra is currently drafting Mumbai’s Climate Action Plan (in collaboration with WRI India) to set and implement tangible emission reduction targets for the city. The state government has also laid emphasis on the adoption of zero-tailpipe-emission vehicles, especially in heavily polluted urban areas like Mumbai.

Hero Electric Partners With BOLT To Set Up 50,000 EV Charging Stations In India

Hero Electric partners with BOLT to set up 50,000 EV charging stations in the country within one year. This partnership will install BOLT chargers at around 750 touchpoints of Hero Electric in India. Nearly 2,000 Hero Electric users will get free of cost BOLT charging units at their homes. EV customers as well as Hero Electric’s users can use these chargers to charge the electric vehicles. Hero Electric application and website will also be integrated with BOLT and users can locate charging stations, book a slot, and make payments.
