SONAE EV launches universal electric two-wheelers’ charging stations. The company also plans to set up 1 lakh EV charging stations in India in the next 5 years. SONAE EV will sell these stations from June 2022.
The charging station was launched in Pune by Aaditya Thackeray, Minister of Environment and Tourism, and Dr. P. Anbalagan, CEO, MIDC at Pune. Shri Subhash Desai, Minister of Industries & Mining, Shri Anil Parab, Minister of Transport, and Shri Uday Samant, Minister of Higher & Technical Education were also present during the event.
SONAE EV’s charging station is a portable, compact and universal 3.3KW AC charger with 5 amp and 15 amp plug which works on the electric supply on a single phase of 230 volts. It also has an emergency stop button, over-temperature, and other features.
“We are working on a breakthrough product that will transform the two-wheeler electric scooter segment with its power-packed performance and features. We are looking to launch it by the end of the year,” said Shubham Deshmukh, Co-Founder-CEO, SONAE EV.
SONAE EV’s charging stations can be used through QR Code, Bluetooth for payment, and RFID Card on the mobile app, ‘SONAE.’ The company will hold discussions with banks, builders, malls, government agencies, educational institutes, warehouses, and industries for setting up EV charging stations on their premises.
