Chartered Bike to deploy 200 charging stations and 2000 electric buses in Mumbai over the coming 3-6 months. Chartered Bike is a subsidiary of Chartered Speed which is a surface mobility firm.
Chartered Bike has partnered with Adani Electricity to power the electric buses and also provide space. E-commerce delivery partners, delivery platforms, and food aggregators can access these e-bikes.
Sanyam Gandhi, Director of Chartered Speed Ltd, said, “We are excited about expanding the deployment of chartered bikes in Mumbai from 50 to 2,000, along with 200 EV charging stations in a short span of the next 3-6 months. With an aim to provide sustainable solutions to e-commerce delivery partners in Mumbai, Adani Electricity has been an ideal partner for us.”
Chartered Bike is being supported by Adani Electricity to assist delivery partners in using an all-electric fleet by saving Rs 150-200 per day without having a driving license with a speed restriction of 25 km/hour.
This e-bike initiative will start a small green revolution in Mumbai and help Chartered Speed to work towards its commitment of providing sustainable solutions.
A Spokesperson of Adani Electricity Mumbai Ltd, said, “Adani Electricity is committed to establishing infrastructure for electric mobility in Mumbai and supporting Chartered Bikes in its journey to provide a sustainable mobility solution to Mumbaikars, thereby achieving a significant reduction in greenhouse gases (GHG) emission.”
Chartered Speed has over 1000 buses and the company also operates BRTS services of Ahmedabad, Indore, and Surat with 40 battery-electric buses.
Chartered Bike also has bike-sharing operations with 4500 bikes in Bhopal, Surat, Kolkata, Ranchi, and Prayagraj.
